How many tampons per period?

How to use large, medium and small tampons together? How many tampons are needed in one menstrual period?

During the menstrual period of each month, sometimes we choose tampons with different absorbency to cope with different flow rates. If you are curious: "How should I use large, medium and small tampons together? How many tampons are needed in one menstrual period?" Don't worry, let's talk about this issue briefly below.

1. Tampons with different absorbency

Large, medium and small tampons are actually selected according to the amount of menstrual flow. Generally speaking:

Small tampons: suitable for days with less menstrual flow, or when the flow is not very fast during the day.

Medium tampons: suitable for normal flow, suitable for most people, basically used on the 2nd and 3rd days of the menstrual period when the flow is the largest.

Large tampons: suitable for days with heavier menstrual flow, or when your flow is very fast.

2. How to use tampons together?

Your flow rate may vary at different stages of your menstrual period, so you can use tampons according to the changes in flow rate:

Early menstruation (Day 1): Usually the flow rate is heavier, you can use a large Tampon first, so that you can cope with a larger amount of blood.

Mid-menstrual period (Day 2, 3): At this time, the flow rate is generally the heaviest, and it is recommended to use a medium tampon, which is suitable for most people. You can also adjust it according to your flow rate. If you feel that the flow rate is particularly heavy, you can continue to use a large tampon.

Late menstruation (Day 4 and later): The menstrual flow gradually decreases, and you can switch to a small tampon at this time, which is enough to cope with a slight flow.

3. How many tampons are needed for a menstrual period?

In a menstrual cycle, 15 to 20 tampons are usually needed, but this also depends on your flow rate and the length of your period. Let's say your period lasts 5 days and your flow is fairly even:

Day 1 and 2 (heavy flow): On these days, you may need to use 6 to 8 medium tampons or large tampons (large tampons are used less often but need to be changed more frequently).

Day 3 (slightly lighter flow): Most people use 4 to 5 medium tampons.

Day 4 and 5 (lighter flow): At this time, you can use 3 to 4 small tampons and basically handle the flow.

So, in general, if your period is 5 days, you may use 15 to 20 tampons, depending on your flow.

4. What if your flow is very heavy or very light?

Very heavy flow: If you find that your flow is very heavy, you may need to use a large tampon and change it more frequently. If you need to use 6-7 tampons a day, consider having extra tampons on days when your flow is heavy.

Very light flow: If you have a very light flow, you can use smaller tampons or choose an alternative, such as sanitary napkins, so you don't need to use as many tampons.

Together with Panty Liner or period underwear, you will have a nice period sleep.
